Dear NCOs (Non-Commissioned Officer)
All SGT will have to purchase THE $13 NCO polo T-shirt from Mr Yong upon being an NCO. This year NCO T-shirt's design is the same as the Sec Ones new T-shirt, with the Hai Sing Catholic (with Chinese characters) name behind. The NPCC insignia will be in front, plus the word 'NCO' sewn on it. The colour of the T-shirt is ash grey. This will be the standard NCO T-shirt for years to come, unless there is a change in mindset.
All NCOs are to be of SGT rank and above.
All NCOs are only to be from Sec 3 and above. However, some cadets from the next batch of NCOs may be roped in to be 'NCOs-in-waiting' the following year to understudy.
All non-sgt Sec 3 cadets will help out in the parade and training. However, training is done by NCOs at squad level. These cadets have to prove themselves and take a promotion test at the end of the year to join the NCO squad.
All NCOs are expected to perform their duty and responsibility to the fullest and must attend trainings and parades faithfully, unless there are valid reasons.
NCOs in charge of various squads (sec ones, twos, etc) are EXPECTED to train your own squad to your fullest capability and impart skills to them. Extra training are EXPECTED to be conducted such as improving their drill proficiency BUT the teacher-in-charge must be kept known about such extra trainings.
NCOs MUST follow the NPCC hierarchy.
NCOs MUST obey the NCO hierarchy, starting from the Chairperson
down.
NCOs have to keep all teachers and CIs informed about happenings.
No vulgarities and spitting ('pui' is banned)
English is to be spoken and used (especially when there are non-Chinese NCOs)
NCOs are not to abuse their authority and power.
No push-ups to be meted to cadets unless it is during PT sessions or other physical training sessions, or unless with teacher's approval.
All NCOs are expected to check the mail, web, or noticeboard frequently.
All NCOs and Sec 3/4/5 seniors can use the NPCC room for meetings and discussion BUT you are expected and encouraged to study and read in the room too AS AN NCO IS EXPECTED TO BE STUDY-SMART. :)
All NCOs and seniors have to keep the NPCC room clean and tidy at all time. No eating in the room.
Full uniform and boots are allowed to be kept or hang in the NPCC room (behind the room in cabinets or shelves) but you have to put a name tag on it or a box with your name.
Only those who are allowed to draw key will do so.
Attendance is to be marked by any NCO of that level and submit to MR Yong or any teacher.
All NCOs are expected to be forthcoming and creative.
All NCOs are expected to command respect and not scream or shout unnecessarily. Earn your rank.
All NCOs and seniors have to attend TRAINING SESSIONs (to be held once in a month or so) in the afternoon conducted by CIs. These sessions will teach, equip, instill and re-teach you on NPCC matters. This is in response to comments that NCOs are not learning much during their NCOs days.
